Could anyone tell me for how long a provisional licence is valid?

Until your 70th birthday if you do not pass a test (does it not show the date on the licence?)

once test passed must exchange within 2 years otherwise...start again....:-)

I don't think its the same for motorbikes though - to stop people riding a 125cc for 30 years on a provisonal license

No a mere youngster, SWMBO has had a provisional licence for over 20 years and as far as she can recall has never driven a car on the road ...
