I think most people here know of the site, as this forum is closing next week we can't claim the two are in competition any more. If you think your face fits then it's probably the natural place to migrate to.

Hopefully C4P have done all the necessary risk assessments. I notice a post on their forum that suggests the On-line Safety Act (OSA) might not apply to their site. That is wrong. Any forum that allows user-generated content is in scope, even if just text. The size of the user base and number of posts is irrelevant. The relevant risk assessments need to be done and it may then be, in the light of those assessments, that the risk is considered low and therefore a lower level of compliance is required by OFCOM.

Only forums that are out of scope need do nothing. I ran C4P through the 'scope checker' and as far as I can see they are in scope and need to act (if they haven't already done so)

There still seem to be problems signing up/getting validated over at the other place.

Smokie (one of the mods) has posted this about prospective members: "... get them to email smokie_mod at c*******.com * (I suppose with their HJ forum name) and if/when it gets fixed or I get adequate working access I'll get in touch."

Having tried to register yesterday, I didn’t get the activation email, not sure why. So I’ve used a different email address this evening and am now registered and activated as tim70. See you on the other side!
