Very true ORB but by consolidating the threads into one it saves a multitude of separate threads on the same subject.

A bit like politics or religion if it’s not possible to be persuaded to change your view it’s going to be impossible to change anyone else’s

It seems to be civilised (so far...) so happy to let it run.

However, it is over the 100 posts now, the point where we tend to start a new Vol otherwise people complain it takes ages to scroll to the bottom of the screen. In an ideal World we would have better software with Pages but we have to make the best of what we have.

One of us will create a new Vol tomorrow.

I don't think it's a question of persuading people to change their views. As has been said many times over in these Volumes, there are several fundamental reasons why an EV is not the answer to many people's driving needs. Rather like the kind of house people choose to live in ?

It'll need a massive step change in EV technology to get those on board who presently find EVs impractical for their specific usage pattern - until then the debate will simply regurgitate previous points.

Personally, I'm waiting for charging facilities away from home to be a lot more practical when towing a caravan or trailer.

I'm waiting to see what Toyota do, they haven't gone all out on battery only vehicles, is their reluctance going to be a self inflicted catastrophe or are they going to be the outright winner when the net zero thing gets shelved as even our polticians finally accept the country, and much of the west, is bankrupt.

By the way, i've nothing at all against battery only cars or the owners and users who can trouser the tax bungs and benefit from cheap non fuel duty taxed charging, good luck to you.

New EV Vol 19 is now running so locking this now. We don't want two separate EV threads running.
