Ford Mondeo Estate - Driver’s window not operating - Englishbullterrier
Not sure of the model but it’s about a 2004 5 gear
tdi estate.

After sitting for a good while with battery disconnected,
everything’s fine except the driver’s door window is stuck up.

No response when activating the “down” switch. I’m stuck
in Latvia without a wiring or fuse diagram. Could some
kind soul point me at the fuse number and its whereabouts ?

Fuses # 60 and 61 in the cabin fuse box . Doubt it’s the issue , because the other front window would be non functional. More likely the motor . Had the same issue on mine . Got one on e bay for £30

While elekie is probably right have you checked that the window is not simply stuck? Our Mazda 3 front passenger window used to stick if left unused for just a few days. I think the window rubbers had got sticky with age. A squirt of washing up liquid along the seal and simultaneously pressing the button and the window glass used to budge it.
My recollection is that there was no sound of the window motor trying to operate until I got a bit of physical movement but ii may be wrong as it was a while ago. There certainly wasn’t a lot of noise as the motor tried to move it. Worth a try.

Thanks both. Another clue is that when depressing the
door open on the remote, and hold it down to open
all windows, 3 open but the driver’s window remains shut.

I’ll check for it being physically stuck, but there’s no
sound whatsoever when attempting to open it

Is it difficult to replace ?

I’ll update when more is known.

Easy enough to replace. Remove the door card and the motor is held to the regulator with 3 screws. No need to replace the complete mechanism.if you’re in Latvia, probably cheaper to get one there .

Just wanted to update you all. It was the motor that has suffered
some corrosion, internally. Local Latvian family run garage, who I use for
(pre-Mot) inspection took the motor apart, cleaned it
and replaced. Now working just fine. Cars will fail the Latvian equivalent of
an MOT if they can’t be lowered !

Total charge, 0.8 hour =48 minutes €27.

Well happy, as a replacement motor was not
immediately available and it’s about 28c here.
