Hyundai Tucson - Air Con Not Working - andy4

Good morning,

The air con on our 2016 Hyundai Tucson has stopped working. It runs warm and has developed a slight rattle type noise. My initial thought was to get it regassed. I took it to our local branch of ProTyres who very helpfully did a free check for me. It failed the vacuum test. So at least I didn't waste money on a regas.

In this situation should I go to a air con specialist or is it the sort of issue a regular garage should be able to deal with. And I am assuming there are no simple fixes I can try myself?

Probably not, unless you have the necessary kit.

No such thing as a simple fix on a modern car . Guess it’s running the newer gas Yf . Probably got a leaking condenser.,

It failed the vacuum test.

You really need to take it to a vehicle air-conditioning specialist as your system has a leak somewhere.

A lot of garages that offer a re gas dont really want to get involved with diagnosis of leaks & when components require replacing.

I will find an air con specialist.

I didn't think there would be anything DIY I could do but thought I would ask. I did see a few videos of people replacing an air pressure switch, and some using a regas/leak stopper. But I guess I would be wasting my time and money going down those routes. It's bad timing. I was hoping to change this car over the next six months or so. Now I've got to pay out for this and also sort out a replacement sat nav screen. Quite frustrating.
