Given how few cars lotus sells here no surprise. Other marques are also moving production here and there.

It all seems to be a bit of a financial game now

The factory plus skilled workforce plus test track?
The expertise of engine and suspension tuning?

Lotus have issued a statement saying that they are committed to their UK workforce, and that there are no plans to close any factory.

I'm sure I've heard that line before regarding British Industry... and elsewhere too.

The Government does not comment on private companies..
