Suggestion-get your driver to drop you off at Three Bridges station. There’s a train every 4 mins to Gatwick rail right inside the terminals. Avoids any traffic snarl ups in the horrible dark formal drop off zones too or the unappetising experience of queuing for a dreary bus at long stay.

As above Our taxi driver drops us off on the right level in the short stay fro £6.oo for 30 minutes OR

To avoid drop-off charges at Gatwick Airport, you can park in the Long Stay car parks for the first two hours for free. After parking, a free shuttle bus will take you to either the North or South Terminal. You can also use the drop-off zones in the North and South Terminal forecourts, but a charge will apply for 10 minutes.

AT Stansted 1 hour free in Mid stay 2nd hour £5 but beware after that £40. even 1 minute over.

We also use the short term car park at Heathrow for 30 minutes dropping off and collecting. Easy. In the dry too.

They can, but it's a nice little earner in a captive market
