On my previous car, a BMW 525i, the Eco Conti tyres gave very good mileage and were quiet running. Excellent all round in fact. I don't know what they would be like on a Mondeo.

Got these all round on a Xsara TD in the same size. They wear well, and they're quiet. No complaints.

i have at continental eco contacts on my golf since new. very quiet and with 21000 miles done they have enough wear left for another 10000 miles

I agree with the others. I've run Continental Eco Contacts on a 205 and currently on my 306. No problems, and they seem to last very well.
|
Go for the Conti Contact EP's if you can, superb low resistance tyre, grippy in the wet though, quiet and economical.
Highly recommended.

Everyone thankd for your inputs much appreciated just as long as they last longer than the Michelins currently fitted.
|
Don't forget it's recommended that new tyres should be fitted at the back whether FWD or RWD.

Performance will vary from vehicle to vehicle. I'd personally avoid the Conti's as I had two full sets on my 406 and experienced disappointing rates of wear (not poor, just disappointing). At the last change, I opted for Goodyear NCT's and have had half as much again out of them as I ever got from the Conti tyres. No appreciable difference in either grip or noise between the two brands. I think that you need a recommendation not just from existing users of that brand/model of tyre, but from people who have experience of their performance on your specific vehicle.
