Does anyone know how to test the blender motors when they are removed from the vehicle. I have taken mine out and dangled them from the dash. When I adjust the airflow direction one moves (Distribution Motor) if I adjust the temperature for either footwell none move?
Answers please.
I have checked the 10K Potentiometer on all back to the plug all Ok from 0 to 10K (11.1K !)

The colours of the wiring to the blend motors are as follows;black & brown are the wires to the motor;grey ,white ,&black/red are wires to 10k potentiometer. You can power motor with 9volt battery ,but need to disconnect from climate control panel, otherwise reverse current could damage it.If you take blend motor apart,be carefull, cos all the reduction gears will fall in your lap!!PS the blend motors can only be bought as a set of 3.

Thanks for the reply,
I had already taken the motors apart and can thoroughly agree with the advise about the gears. One thing worth mentioning is the arrows that need to align on the gear that operates the POT and the flap control spigot gear.
I'm now in the position where all three motors operate when I adjust the temperature and the vent location with no handbook sign on the display. If I now move the Distribution Motor (DM) from one extreme to the other the motor stops at about 75% and the error appears on the display. If I turn the ignition on and off a few times the motor will eventually step to the correct location. The weird thing is I swapped the DM with one of the Blend motors and it did the same thing? If I step sequentially though all of the DM positions it works but refuses to go back until I do the ignition on/off again.

Maybe the HeVac unit needs replacement. Try posting on www.LRO.com
