Citroen ZX 1.9D occasionally cuts out - Dom F {P}
In the 18 months I've had my ZX it has cut out on me 5 times now when driving. It starts up again fine, and it usually happens when I press the clutch when coming down to second at a junction.

The last time it happened, I had driven about 2 miles. Anyone have any clues on the cause?

Fuel injection pump anti-stall setting not right, I reckon.

Not really something you can adjust yourself without an optical tachometer and a shim.

Might there be some problem with the stop solenoid? It needs power (12v) to hold it open for the fuel to flow. Occasionally sticks open when the key is removed from the ignition - engine then has to be stopped 'manually'.

Check your RPM it should be at 800 to 900 as set by the factory.

Otherwise if this fault happens while you are driving and you have poor performance, it maybe your fuel filter being blocked or if you have vent pipe on your tank somewhere it maybe blocked causing a vacuum stopping the fuel to the engine also the same applies to the fuel filler cap.
