Lexus IS200 Clutch Judder - Patrick Wills
I have a November 99 (V Reg) Lexus IS200 SE Manual with 20,00 miles on the clock. From new it has suffered from an annoying (and quite severe) clutch judder when creeping along in slow moving queues (slipping the clutch at tickover). Lexus delers accept that the problem exists and have replaced the flywheel and clutch assembly twice, but the problem persists. Has anyone else had this problem?
Re: Lexus IS200 Clutch Judder - Robert
Hi,

I don't have an IS200, but had one on a four day test drive about a year ago. It did the exact same thing. When I commented to the dealer he said that as it was a demonstrator it would have had a lot of different drivers who could have caused the problem - as people do tend to thrash cars on demos.

I'd be interested to hear others views.

I wonder if the engine mounts, or their design, have a problem.
