Please can the Backroom advise a fair price for the follwing private sale:

March 2001, Y, Audi A4 1.8T Avant Sport Tiptronic, 32,000 miles, 1 owner, full audi service history, six months Audi warranty remaining, metallic silver, black leather, climate control, sunroof, walnut trim, CD autochager, . Will soon require two front tyres, minor scratches on rear bumper.

Private - £16,023

Part Ex - £14,591

Trade - £14,192

Cost New - £22,100

I would have thought that given the extras you have, the Tiptronic, the FSH, you should be getting at least £16,000.

I would personally treat any valuation from Autotrader, Parkers etc with a degree of scepticism- they are not always "real-world" prices and IMHO are often unduly optimistic.

That said register on the Autotrader site (by clicking through here of course :) and then doing a national search against criteria as close as poss to yours and you'll see a range of real prices that's about as close to market rate as you'll get

Seriously, this HAS to be the most reliable way of evaluating a car...
