The steering on my L reg Rover 214 Si has become extremely light.
There is plenty of fluid. Would appreciate any information.
Is this a problem? Is the car OK to drive?

Has anyone over inflated the front tyres?

Problem appeared overnight. Car was driven Friday and it was OK. I drove it Saturday and the steering was incredibly light. When stationary with the engine running you can "spin" the steering wheel.
Have checked the tyre pressures today. All were OK. Set at 31 psi.

Steering Rack failure, for sure. There is a torque 'ring' inside and it would appear that has broken.
Recon rack time!
