My mk2 2.0 Mondeo is currently fitted with Dunlop Sport 200s, but I find them lacking in grip, particularly in the wet. I'm looking to replace them, but there doesn't seem to be that much choice in this size with the V rating for some reason. I'm tempted to go for some Continental EcoContacts, but could get Goodyears for almost £10 less each or Avons for £30 less. Does anyone have any recommendations?

My 2.0 Mondeo runs really well on Michelin Pilots.
I normally buy mine at costco, but Micheldever tyres are about the same price.

Costco have a new 'passport' discount book out which gives £35 off if you buy a set of 4 michelins between 6-19 October.
They were giving the passports out at the store today - if you joined fairly soon they'd give you a copy (or you're welcome to my voucher - I won't be using it).

I have a car with G/year NCT5's and another with Conti PremiumContacts. I don't think there is much difference between them.
The NCT5 came out top in a recent pan-European consumer associations testing.

I have the same size (but an H rating) & have the NCT 5's on the front (405 TD estate) - they are quiet and seem to grip well. Not had alot of rain to test their wet weather performance though. I have Pirelli P6000's on the back & they are grippy in the dry but they don't last well on the front!

"I'm tempted to go for some Continental EcoContacts"
See the comment on assymetrical tyre thread.
Ecocontacts or Speedcontacts work really well on the Mondeo.
No conclusive evidence on wear rate yet, but the speedcontacts might be quite soft.
