I bought a VW Polo, 1.4cl auto R reg 1998, this year but not 100% happy with it. I find when I\'m driving over potholes etc that the steering wheel very quickly pulls to the left & I have to quickly have to grab hold of it.
Does anyone out there have any ideas what could be causing this?

This could just be normal steering kickback or torque steer.
Under hard accleration in front wheel drive cars (yes even in a polo) a steering wheel can \"squirm\" in your hands. This is called torque steer, all FWD cars have it, but vary in amount.
Kickback or Feedback. If you go over a pothole, and your steering wheel kicks left, then this is normal. IF you hit a pothole on the right it should kick right.
If the kickback is excessive it could indicate worn shock absorbers on the front or some other suspension problem

Thanks very much, it is quite excessive. So it could be the shock absorbers but have pushed down on wing and car doesnt bounce. But I will get it checked out thanks once again.
