I've seen several adverts for this device, claiming all the usual benefits like more power. lower consumption etc. Does anyone know if it really works or is it another of the over-hyped products that seem to be regularly foisted on the unwary?

I was thinking about getting one of these. It is primarily good for emissions and fuel economy. With a CAT your looking at negligible amounts emitted.
You might get 1-2 bhp out of it which is a) unmeasurable and b) swamped by the self deluding placebo effect. "I'm sure its a bit more responsive..." and so on.
I heard somewhere that it might make the fuel-air mix a little rare (can't remember the opposite of rich!) in some cars.
