Squeeky Steering Mazda 6 - Maurice
I own a Mazda 6 which has developed a sqeeky steering wheel. Anyone got any suggestions to cure the problem?

I don't know about this particular car but I would try squirting some WD40 in the gap between the back of the wheel and the plastic surrounding the indicator stalks etc. By the way, I am thinking of buying a Mazda 6, what is your opinion of the car?

Very good. Handles very well, comfortable drive, no rattles, feels well put together and nothing gone wrong since I bought it four months ago.I also like the style of the car. I had a test drive and liked it immediately. The dealer was very good and quickly came up with a good deal. The only problem is that it seems to pick up small door dents very easily no matter how careful I am when parking. The body panels seem much thinner than my old Toyota.

Thanks for the info. It's reassuring to hear that you are pleased with the car. I also like the exterior styling very much, the only thing I'm not so sure about is the look of the interior, but I'm sure I could get used to it. Time to talk to the dealers I think. Hope you cured the squeek.

I did 10000 miles at the back end of last year, in an 8 week period.

It was in a 1.8s - ie the base model - it was well equipped and comfortable. Performance was very good, although the engine noise was a little too obtrusive.

The plastic "titanium" centre console is the only let down. Poor quality and easily sratched.

Karakuri back seat is excellent - many trips to the tip benefitted from it's easy folding.

I seem to remember the car says "hello" on the dashboard display when you turn ignition on - what more could you want from a car??? ;o)
