After a previous posting I've decided on buying a Mitsubishi Galant estate. I looked on Autotrader site for prices and found the above company offering a 2001X Galant with 49000miles for £5000. This is considerably cheaper than other dealers but they claim low overheads and big turnover allow them to seriously undercut rivals. All cars are RAC inspected and this one would have remains of makers warranty. I know the saying " if it's too good to be true it probably is", but am I being too suspicious of this price, or does anyone have any experience of this company? (They're just to west of London)

In the absence of any first hand experience of this company, their local Trading Standards Dept. would be a good place to start. In my experience TS don't like naming/ shaming but you could explain the situation and ask if the company is well known to them. If the answer is "yes" you'll be able to draw your own conclusions.

Just been on their website and I'm not sure if this car is an actual car or just a 'from' price for all their estate cars.

Sometimes things make sense in print versions of AutoTrader but get transferred badly to the plain text that most of most dealers' websites consist of. I noticed that this car doesn't have any pics like others there.

Having said that, Galants are hugely unpopular for some reason and if the car's been in stock for a long time, they might let it go for next to nothing rather than have the hassle of auctioning it.

No, £5000 is the price for that car, although there is an "admin fee" of £138 on top. I rang them this morning to check.
