Has anyone renewed their VED tax disc lateley? A hand written number '9' appeared on mine at the local post office - it's supposed to show that they either saw your log book or that you produced a 'Swansea Reminder'. Only trouble was they just added the '9' to the end of my vehicle registration number. Guess I'll have to go out and buy a new set of reg. plates to match....

I retaxed my Honda Hornet (motorbike) today, actually.

Local post office clerk saw my MOT certificate, insurance certificate, and 'Swansea Reminder' as you put it.

The resultant tax disc does not bear a '9' though, rather a 'Q'.

Nothing to worry about.

Its an admin marker called a validation character.
