Mercedes E Class - Apple CarPlay - CliftonBristol

Hello

I am looking for a 2018 Mercedes E Class. Specifically E220 SE -- the basic one.

I was wondering if Apple Car Play comes as standard. I look at one today and could not figure it out.

A quick look at a spec sheet shows it coming in with Comand, at AMG Line trim.

Not according to page 69 of this:

It has a screen but not Comand functionality.

My friend, look at the first page: "Effective from December 2019 Production."

The comand system in the newest e-class is a completely different ball game.

I am looking at a 2018 e-class.

If you’re telling me that you think it has, it’s an easy test. Take your iPhone and preferably a genuine USB lead and plug it in to the USB port. CarPlay can be fussy on cheap leads. The car screen should switch to CarPlay, and you’ll have to allow it on your phone screen.

Dealer should know, I've just bought an E class 2016 and will try with my I phone. I'll have a look on You tube too.
