Golf rear caliper carrier -8mm allen?

Golf rear caliper carrier -8mm allen? - Robert Fleming
Need to get the brake carrier off to change rear discs (Mk2 Gti). Will an 8mm allen key do the trick/it is actually a 7mm/will I need a socket drive because a key isn\'t up to it?

From memory doing mine last year, they were tight! Even using a socket set 1/2" drive hex driver.

Also you will need to make up a tool to screw the pistons back in. I used a bolt (forget size) with a couple of nuts locked together on it, so it could be driven from a standard socket set. It is still in the toolbox suitably tagged.
