Absorbs and stores evaporative emissions from fuel tank. During part-load/hot engine operation a solenoid valve is opened and the stored vapour is drawn into the engine and burned. Idea is to cut down on emissions of volatile hydrocarbons from fuel tank. Its part of EU emission regs.
