Skoda Fabia 1.2 petrol - Suddenly non starter. - Malcolm Lewis

My sons Fabia has been totally reliable until a few months ago he parked overnight to work on a film set. When he returned 12 hours later the car would not start and has failed to do so since. We have replaced the fuel pump and drained the petrol, fearing dirty fuel but even with fresh petrol it still will not start. There is petrol getting to injectors and the spark is present. It IS booked into Skoda dealer on 25th July but wonder if anybody out there can suggest what has happened here. My son maintained the car well and had a service only weeks before this happened. The engine does turn over ok.

You need a Noid Light to check the injectors are receiving an injection pulse.

Unlikely to be an immobiliser fault. Any problem here usually allows the car to run for a few seconds ,and the engine mil light will flash. More in-depth investigation work required, you can't guess with modern cars. Would not be surprised if the fault were timing chain related.
