Mr2 Mk3 - Fog Light - macski

My MR2 is due its first MOT under my ownership, I know there are no issues apart for a blown fog light bulb.

Went to replace the bulb today but the bulb is OK. The fog light has only two wires running to it, a pernament live and a earth (at leat that is what the colour suggests).

Slightly confused guessing the earth is not an earth and has a broken link someplace.

Anyone suggest how to start looking for the broken wire. The switch lights up and as it passed MOTs previously guessing fog light had to work.

Are we talking front or rear fog light? What is the age of the car?

rear, wouldn't mater if it was a front one, it is a 1999 mk3 mr s, i will put up a photo in a bit

You need to bit a little careful here.On many Jap cars ,thre lighting circuits are switched on the negative earth return circuit.So there will be power to the fog lamp with the headlights on,and the fog switch will earth the lamp.Perhaps this circuit back to the switch is open.
