Transmission troubles - Fiat Punto - khaliq
I have got Fiat Punto Selecta on 45000 miles which shudders when I decelerates or accelerates at a speed of around 30mph and below. I took it to fiat Dealer they said that the problem is either with the gearbox or powder clutch but they were not sure and they asked me to keep on driving until it stops. I dont know what to do.

Can anybody help please!!!!

My mum in law has the same car (N plate but only done about 20k IIRC) and has also been having problems with the autobox. It started with the shuddering and now seems to refuse to pull away at lights, junctions etc. Her dealer has had the car in several times and has managed to achieve nothing by way of a fix. They have now had the car for 2 weeks and still haven't even called her let alone come up with a diagnosis or cure. Given the value of the car and the cost of repairs etc. I reckon she'd have been better off dumping the damn thing. There are various threads on this site to do with this problem so why not do a search ? To avoid wasting ££££££'s like my MIL I'd suggest going to a recommended dealer or auto specialist. Good luck and keep us informed please. I'll report any news on MIL's car ASAP so keep a look out for that thread.

Hi Stator. I've just accessed the site and requested details of a member or associate near to where we live. I couldn't access all of the site for some reason but did notcie the the job opportunities section was still listing posts from 2001 ! Has the site not been updated recently or has this organisation effectively ceased to exist ?

Thanks Stator, I've got the number of someone from FATE in Birchington who I'm told should be able to help or at least point us in the right direction. BTW MIL's car has only done 9k not 20k as I thought. Somehow that makes us feel even worse :-(
