Lovely big cars but don’t buy it if you can’t afford main dealer servicing or have a genuine specialist nearby who is up to date with the likes of this. These are highly complex machines and very costly to keep right. Depreciation is also heavy so again don’t buy unless you have deep pockets.

Glorious things to sit in and drive and I can fully understand the appeal. I’ve two neighbours with XJ’s, one is a 2010 3.0 diesel which he’s currently ruining with daft mods and a horrid orange wrap but he’s had no bother with it to date. I doubt this will last though as I’m pretty certain he’s ignored my advice on maintenance and is scrimping. The other has an old 2003 3.0 petrol with the Ford V6 that he’s had from new and still loves. I’d love to get this off him especially as it’s worth peanuts and has a full Jag history. Best bear this in mind though as you’ll lose most of that £16-£17k in the first three years.

2010 is jaguar gremlin territory. check out the price of some parts and then see if you want one.

I used to work as a jaguar dealer parts manager. I wouldn't go near one.

Nice looking though.

I'll paraphrase HJ here :

The maintenance costs for a car bear no relation to the price YOU paid for it, but rather the price it was when new.

So, the question to ask is this : Can you afford to run a £63k car ?

2 minutes browsing found headlights @ £1069 a side incl 25% discount.

I'd rather a bargainous priced X350 personally if i had the Jaguar XJ urge.

I think the point being made is that even a mundane object such as a new headlight costs a pretty packet. So if anything goes on the car, and it will on an old car, it’ll cost a good whack to repair. A good example of something that might go is the exhaust. Or the clutch. However, there is one option and that is to use reclaimed and reconditioned parts, which should reduce the pain a bit.

Fair one

Get yourself an XJ350 and do the suspension change to get rid of the costly leaky airbags.

There are two versions of the kit, one is better than the other. get the uprated one.

Have suggested to 3 people so far to do it. 2 have, one still thinking.. cost of bits is the same as 1 airbag.

well worth it, and a nicer car, but go for the 3 litre petrol if you are in the uk.
