| Where can I get my hands on a detailed servicing schedule for a 1996 W140 Mercedes S280 S-Class?
I want to know what it is that Mercedes charges (up to) £770 pounds for!

                    | £770 = 7 hours of labour (yes it is £100 per hour) and £70 of bits (£20 for washer fluid etc)!!!! |

                    | I have all MB schedules in front of me at the moment. Which one is it? |

                    | Okay, It had the 90,000 mile service done at 88,000 so it's due the 99,000 service about now at 96,500. I think it's an 'A' service which, as far as I can gather, is oil, oil filter, air filter and a precautionary look around the car.
I've found a Merc specialist who will do it for £113 + VAT but he's using a semi synthetic oil, Castrol QXR I think it was, which concerns me a little.

Anyway, I digress, what does the 108,000 service (I guess) entail?

Also, I gather that Tesco unleaded fuel isn't as good as Shell unleaded fuel. Do you agree? I've just switched over this morning so I'll see if I can notice a difference. I guess it'll show in mpg and idle from cold?

Anyway, help much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

                    | Sorry, Aprillia, I've seen your anser on the QXR oil on the other discussion. Thank-you!
How do you know all these things?
