I need to know how to convert Miles per gallon to Kilometers per litre. Does anyone know how to do this because i aint got a clue. I have tried this
KPL = MPG/4.5x1.6
but i'm not sure if this is correct. Can anyone help???

You're pretty much correct.
Adding a bit more accuracy you could use
km/l = mpg * 1.609344 / 4.54609 = mpg * 0.3540
Metric economy is usually measured in l/100km so the lower the better. A formula for that is:
l/100km = 282.5 / mpg
Hope this helps,

8 km ~ 5 mi; 2*2*2 km = 10/2 mi; 2(2*2*2)/10 km = 1 mi; just the math;
I remember km is bigger #, so 10 miles = 10 {[2(2*2*2)/10] km} = 16 km
or # mi is less so X10 / 2*2*2*2 = smaller # gives miles
3.75 liters ~ 1 US gallon which is ~4 = 2*2
just quick guess, on the run use your fingers to keep track of 2's
18 mpg = 18({[2(2*2*2)/10] km} /{2*2 liters/1gallon}) = 18({(2*2)/10}) km/lt = 7.2 km/lt
sorry, do not know british gallons to liters conversion, but this is a quick guess that is <12% off, not hard just move decimal left/rigth and mult/divde twice you have a very quick answer that is close, adjust +/- 10% and there is the answer.
tip:: move decimal; one finger for 2; one more finger for 2, and your answer close enough when talking and driving
Good luck, if only complex mathmatical theory translated so easily; I guess it might if I could find a professor to teach me, still looking for that enlightened professor, maybe he is in England somewhere, that is a good idea.

Simply Googling shows the answer :)
1 MPG = 0.354 km/L
1 km/L = 2.83 MPG
