I'm reminded of the sniffpetrol spoof ad where they offered to give you the car with nothing to pay until jesus next walked the earth.
How low will the manufacturers stoop to get one more registration?

What you have here is Ford, a minority player, only been in the Philippines 5-6 years, trying to get airtime vs. Isuzu, Toyota, Mits and Nissan, who dominate the small 4 X 4 pickup market, which is a big deal in the Philippines for recreational vehicles. The new Ford Ranger is said to be the most powerful in this sector and they're trading on the Built Tough marketing drive.
Plus being the Philippines they'll make a fiesta out of it (no pun) and have lots of hoop-la, scantily clad beauties, TV exposure, all that. Quite shrewd actually, it's playing to the Latin machismo culture we have here and linking this to the tough built brand image.

So little chance for a shortish, fattish, baldingish brit in his mid-30s then, competing with all that testosterone.
Ah well, have to think of another excuse to head out the the "Flippin's" then. Like I need an excuse.....
