BMW X5 E53 2003 - Radio button stopped working

BMW X5 E53 2003 - Radio button stopped working - AndyHolder

The radio push button on the widescreen display monitor has stopped working. The Monitor is still working with Sat Nav, Computer info. I have checked the 3 radio fuses (1 front-2 rear) and all ok. Has anyone had similar problems, is it a known problem, easy fix or will I need a new monitor?

Could be a monitor fault.Doubt if you will be buying a new one as they cost nearly £2k. Second hand will be the way to go.Have you tried a battery disconnect?May be worth a try but a bit of performance to access the battery under the spare wheel and air suspension equipt.

Thanks for the tip- battery disconnect worked. Any reasons why? and could this be a sign of more electrical issues down the line. everything else seems to be ok.

Electronics on modern cars are very voltage sensitive.So any slight dip/glitch in a power supply to a consumer can cause it to throw a wobbly or lock out.
