Ford Transit Connect (2006) - Doors not locking - Gazmck

Ive recently purchased a 06 plate ford transit to discover that the central locking does not work...

when you try to lock the doors with the fob the doors all lock but instantly they all unlock, Ive checked that there is nothing stopping any of the doors from closing properly they are all closed,

so when I then try to lock it with the key from the drivers door the same thing happens again but after about 8 or 9 turns with the key the drivers door will remain locked but all others still remain unlocked....

Any advice appreciated!

Usually even if you use the key fob 8-9 times the centeral locking will stop working for a short period to stop you overheating the solenoids so that is probably why only the drivers lock locks after that amount of tries. But it shows the lock barrel and key isn't worn which is a common ford problem. Does the interior light come on off when opening and closing the doors? It might be an electrical fault with the door lock switch

The reason the doors lock then unlock,is because the electronics of the cdl system are "seeing" an open door.This is often caused by a fault to the latch or wiring to the back doors.
