Your mileage doesn't warrant a diesel, look for someting with a petrol engine.

Which tells you all you need to know, if no one wants the Diesel there's probably good reason.

A search here will reveal a thread that goes on something like 300 odd posts about repeated turbo failures and associated issues with this engine, assuming this is the well loved, well maybe, PSA 1.6HDi....some of which go on for years and some of which don't.

There are 600 diesels and 300 petrols on auto trader. That means more choice of diesel to choose from. Anyone planning to go a long way will buy diesel. Car with 100kbplys miles will be cheaper. My Mrs has 55 reg 1.6 tdci and I have 2.0 tdci mondeo. Both 100k plus and both sweet and reliable. How is your 5k driving broken down? If you don't use car so often so each journey is a bit longer diesel could still work out OK

If you particularly want a Ford look at an older one.

High mileage diesel = money pit

Unless you are very, very, lucky!

Thanks for your comments leaning towards the focus 1.0 ecoboost with 85,000 at least cheaper to repair

I wouldn't buy either of the cars you've suggested. Get something without a turbo. And if you can only get something high mileage in this version of the Focus, look for another car, even if it is a year or so older

Thanks for your comments leaning towards the focus 1.0 ecoboost with 85,000 ....

That sounds more sensible - v high likelyhood of lasting till 110,000, and probably a lot longer, if it has been well maintained.
