Ford Focus 1.6 auto - Correct engine oil - bluenun

Hi,

I have a 2003 Ford Focus 1.6 auto, Zetec engine.

The handbook says it needs 5W30 Semi Synthetic Engine Oil.

In Halfords 5L costs £26:99.

I have found some that costs less but do not want to use it if it is not as good.

This is what it says,

"Granville Hypalube 5w/30 Semi Synthetic Engine Oil Suitable for Ford Zetec Engines and many other modern engines. Specifications :- ACEA A1/B1 API SL/CF Ford WSS-M2C913-A Ford WSS-M2C913-B".

Any good or should I pay extra for the Halfords oil?

As long as it meets the Ford spec (as stated in the owners manual) it will be okay to use.

Ford Focus 1.6 auto - Correct engine oil - gordonbennet

A quick look on the bay shows 5 litres of Fuchs Titan fully synthetic for £21 inc delivery, thats where my money would be going...ebay number 201320970806

Fuchs were formerly Silkolene IIRC.

You won't go far wrong with Millers, Fuchs, Morris, Valvoline to name just a few.
