Volkswagen Transporter T5 2.0tdi 140 - Flywheel or release bearing? - VW & Seat owner

I've owned from new a 2010 T5 2.0TDI 140 that has now covered 130,000 miles. It has developed a rattle recently when depressing the clutch pedal slightly and disappears when pedal fully depressed. Some say flywheel others say bearing. Has anyone had the same fault? It still changes gear OK.

Could be either. Only way to tell for certain is to get it taken apart, i'm afraid to say.

As above, once apart no one is going to replace just one part of a clutch train.

It is the dual mass flywheel. Had the same problem. Vw t52005 axb 77kw.

If it were the bearing you would hear it when presing the clutch and the sound would be a high pitch metal sound.

Your dual mass flywheel is worn and needs to be replaced. On 130000 miles you should have a the clutch replaced because it could pe worn.

Required new DMF & clutch. VW Dealer was very helpful and discounted the parts & labour.
