Where can l find engine spec data?

Where can l find engine spec data? - dan
If l want to find in depth engine data e.g. component dimensions of conrods, cranks etc.. do l have to own the particular workshop manuals for each vehicle l might be interested in OR are their other sources (Almanac/bible)?

Dealer workshop/Engine Overhaul manual....expensive and tricky to get hold of.

secure.wwwdot.co.uk/mercian/frameset1.htm have a good range of workshop and technical manuals. They may be able to tell you via email if they have the sort of thing you are looking for. They have a shop in coventry under the name of Mercian Manuals.

Interesting, I looked up a Ford Mk1 Escort workshop manual....55 pounds. I bring this up because in 1994 I went into my local Ford dealer, asked them to get out the microfiche for my car (1973 1300L Escort) and give me a price for some suspension bushes...the baby faced counter assistant looked at me with horror! But they did have the microfiche still, and my suspension bushes were still available for 2.50 each...then out of interest I asked if the workshop manual was listed, he looked, and yes it was...15 pounds, in stock, delivery 2 days. I ordered one there and then. It was invaluable for the next few years. I recognise a lot of the diagrams used in the Haynes manual through!

Still have the manual but I suspect the car has long since gone to the scrapyard
