Vauxhall Astra Club - Cutting out - tonyg17
Hi all. My first post here so be gentle. I have a Astra 1.6 8v on a 03 plate. Ile cut to the chase. I had my front hub bearings done this week and before this all was ok. Now I have no speedo and the car as started to cut out when I get to traffic lights sometimes. Tickover is ok normally on start up. Any help appreciated ty

One of the front hubs (left from memory)contains the speed sensor for the speedo.So I would suspect there is a fault with the hub or the wiring to it is damaged or not connected.

ty for the reply,ime getting it looked at again tomorrow,any ideas on the cutting out problem?

Yes,the engine control system needs to see a road speed signal to calculate correct idle.If the speed signal is lost,then stalling can occur.
