fiat punto 1.2 activ - ball joints gone - teddy999

Hiya this is such a great site thanks for your help in the past.....my fiat punto is making a knocking noise when i turn corners at the front, and its been diagnosed as the ball joints gone and or suspension arms.... sorry I know nothing about cars lol.Anyway has anyone got any idea how much it will cost to fix, they actually said they would replace the ball joints and is it ok to drive say for a day or two while I sort it out, many thanks

Did you ever see "Bambi" the movie?

That bit where Thumper is on the ice and convinces bambi to try,

So both bambi's front legs go sliding apart and he face plants the ice.

Well when a cars ball joint lets go it does a fair impression of bambi on ice

So even if you know diddley about cars you have to have seen Bambi!!

And if the joints are actually knockin they're going to come out.

It's around 2 hours labour plus the lower suspension arms.
