Focus - Red light violation - Ctlfc

Hi All

I went through an amber/red light, probably more red than amber if I'm honest. On an opposite junction there was one of those mobile cctv police vans. Once I had gone through the traffic light they put the lights on the van and followed behind me. They were positioned to be going in another direction but then cut the junction, seemingly to pull me over. They didn't pull me, instead, they turned of their lights and pulled up next to me at the next set of lights without so much as even looking at me.

Without pulling me over can they still prosecute me for jumping the red light? I'm hoping that them going in the opposite direction to where they seemed to be going is just a coincidence. I don't know if their van would've been in a position to record what I did.

Any advice (aside the obvious "stop at red lights") would be appreciated. Hoping I've learnt my lesson without getting 3 points and a fine

Cheers

Maybe stop at red lights? :-)

You'll just have to wait and see if something comes through the post. They don't stop you at the time so probably a co-incidence that they drove off at the same time. Although it could quite possibly mean they weren't recording at that time if they were about to move.
