Sat-nav screen protector - dimdip

Hi all,

can I ask your opinions on this. I just bought my first sat-nav (Garmin 2569) which apparently has a 'real glass' screen.

There are adverts around for screen protectors for these devices, but not having owned any kind of touch-screen device before I don't have a clue about these.

Are screen protectors desirable / worthwhile / a waste of money / worse than useless for sat-navs?

Thanks

No need in my opinion, glass is pretty tough and it will not get the use / abuse that a phone screen gets.

I dont see why you would need a screen protector in normal use. However if you store it with other gubbins in the glovebox it might pick up scratches so you could get a case to protect it. I have Garmins own slip case and it was only a few pounds. Or you might pick up a suitable case in a Poundshop - my old Tomtom used one from there that was sold as a camera case.

Thanks, appreciate your replies. Taking onboard your advice I've gone ahead and ordered a case from ebay instead. Cheers
