Hi,
Can anyone please tell me if there's anything to be scared of in removing the cylinder head from this model (a '98 vintage). I've done this job about half a dozen times before on other models (OHC and OHV), and have a good selection of tools :-)
I see that Haynes has just released a Passat/A4 manual, so that could be helpful - and I'm not under any time pressure to get the job completed (so she says.......). My only real concern is that 'special tool 12345/xyz' is needed at some point!
It's a stripped cambelt failure, so I'll need the services of a local reconditioners (which I've used before, and trust), but hopefully I'll be able to save a little on labour rates.
Hope someone can advise and possibly reassure me.....
