The old problem of indelible handprints on paint left by sunscreen was bad around rear door handles and surfaces on my Jazz. (silver metallic finish)
This regime seems to have suceeded in removing them:
Wash area and dry carefully to ensure there is no grit.
Soak a paper towel folded corner in ammonia and gently rub affected area for a minute or so, exposing clean towel every few seconds.
Wash off with plain water, copiously, and dry.
Use CarPlan T Cut (or similar) on area now. Follow instructions on tin but do not overwork the area. 30 seconds of gentle pressure circular and varied rubbing.
Clean off T cut when dry.
After many experiments, this has worked for me.
The unique part is the ammonia.
