Can hear intermittent metal to metal grinding noise from back (only with window open) at about 40 mph, not related to pedal/clutch use. Maybe relates to road rise/fall/turning. On for about a second & off again, maybe 2-3 times a minute. Length of grinding is increasing so getting worried. My mechanic cannot hear it. Has been going on for over a year. Any ideas about likely cause appreciated.
