Citroen Xantia - Citroen Xantia intermittant starting problem - mjon07

I have a intermittant problem starting the car. I put the key in the ignition and sometimes there's nothing all the electrics are working (except sometimes the radio led display goes off) then after another two or three turns it starts and will start normally for the rest of the time. Is this the ignition switch or the radio or another electrical problem I have a1997 xantia estate 1.9 turbo diesel.

I would remove all the battery connections and clean the battery posts and the insides of the terminals.Also check the main earth lead where it bolts to the body.

Thanks I have changed the terminals going to have the battery checked tomorrow. Strated first time everytime today .

The ignition switches are known to go faulty on Xantias so if you have any more trouble that would be the next thing to check.
