I recently had an idle issue which had my revs going up to 3000 and then dropping to 2000
And flucuating between 2/3000. I cleaned my tb (off the car)
And put it all back together but ther is no change in revs/ idle.
Car has done 58,000 miles on a 06 plate.
Can someone help me please b4 i end up in a padded room

Since you say it's a GTi I am assuming your car is a petrol. Check around the manifold for vacuum leaks, and ensure that the dipstick is correctly seated, as the crankcase has a minor vacuum at idle on these engines. Find someone with VCDS to help you and specifically to check the short term and long term fuel trim values. As I said, an intake air leak is a likely cause of your problem so make sure there aren't any.
