Well done that dealer. Especially on the profit margin on a duster.

I was expecting to see rusty bodywork not a bit of surface rust on a drive shaft and suspension.

Bit of a poor show for a new car, but a quick rub down and bit of grease would sort it in a jiffy.

There have been a number of posts about the dacia cars which are made in India having rust and many faults.

Some people have managed to get refunds due to major surface rust. The Dacia's made in rumania seam to have no problems are are of much better quality, sadly none of these dusters are reaching the UK.

I thought all the current Dusters destined for the UK were being made in Romania.

A case of motoring journalism failing to see the elephant in the room.

A nearly new Dacia Duster with surface rust on its rear hub carriers and drive shafts is the norm, acceptable and will do nothing to shorten the lifespan of those components or the car.

Meanwhile the motoring press have chosen to ignore large numbers of Indian-built Dusters with extensive corrosion on thin body panels which will certainly shorten the life expectancy and trade-in value of those cars.

I would advise that nobody should buy an Indian-built Duster unless the price is so low that it can be considered disposable.

However all new Dusters are Romanian-built and can be considered corrosion-free and are probably good value for money as long as you don't overspec.
