Ford Focus - speedo dropping in and out - huskyash2015

Morning all,

Just wanted to confirm with the experts on here.

I have a ford focus 2001 1.4 petrol in the uk,

Some times the speedo cuts in and out for a few seconds to a few mins.

I am guessing its the wheel speed sensor.

I have been trying to find out where this is located, as some are on the gear box and some are on the front hub I think,

I'd thought Id come to the experts that know more than I do on a ford and hopefully get some good advice and help

on this age of focus,the speed sensor is in the gearbox.The only sensors on the front hub are for the abs system .(if fitted)

Ok thanks for the advice.

My next question will be. Why cant i seem to find the part for the gear box and only parts that keep saying FORD FOCUS 1.4 1.6 1.8 2.0 D TDCi ABS WHEEL SPEED SENSOR FRONT LEFT RIGHT (Fits: Ford Focus 2001 [DAW, DBW] 1.4 16V).

All parts on ebay are telling me it's on the hub.

Brill thanks for that, realaised after i wrote message.

Have spoken to ford and they are telling me i dont have a speedo sensor on the gear box. Which i thought was strange. Could it be linked to the diff??
