Mitsubishi Outlander 2007 2.2 - Loss of power - Billie71

Hi, I'm sorry if this has been covered before but I have searched this site and found nothing. My Outlander loses power/goes into limp mode occasionally. It's usually when travelling between 60mph plus (often when overtaking), no warning lights come up on the dash and if I pull over, turn off the ignition and re-start straight away, the problem clears. Any ideas would be gratefully received as I love the car aside from this issue.

No warning lights, so it's probably not a serious problem triggering full limp mode, does it die suddenly or gradually lose it's urge?

I'd get the fuel filter changed, could be something as simple as fuel starvation due to overdue filter change, when overtaking you're forcing through the most fuel at any one time.

Avoid general garages and main dealers, slip into a Diesel specialist, they'll read the codes and change that filter for you if they think its necessary.
