Renault Megane - Renault Megane Exhaust Manifold 1.5DCI - Ben Love

Hi, I have a renault megane 1.5 DCI with the K9K732 106BHP lump.

Basically the exhaust manifold has cracked and is in need of replacing. I have ordered a new manifold off eBay and it should be here early next week,

I know exhaust manifold bolts are a PIA to remove and often shear. However, my engine was replaced 10,000 miles / 12 months ago approx so therefor the exhaust manifold was removed.

What do you think the chances are the exhaust manifold will come off with ease / not bearing in mind the short period it has been on there?

Finally, I am aware my cambelt / waterpump will need replacing soon, is this a job that is likely to be cheaper if I get it done at the same time and how should I go about finding the best garage to do this? I don't want to be stuck with an engine with manifold bolts sheared off!

Cheers!

"What do you think the chances are the exhaust manifold will come off with ease".

This depends on how rusty the bolts and threads have become over the past year. If easing oil is used by a skilled technician, the chances are that they will come off OK.

You will have to do the thinking and research here.
