It's a bit of an open-ended question! They are good solid cars, reasonably roomy and a good boot capacity. I've had mine for 8 of its 12 years, and it's now covered 225,000 miles. Most of the car is original, including the exhaust and turbo. If you have some mechanical expertise, they are relatively easy to maintain. There are quite a few specialist garages around, and if you are near one of them it's ideal. And there are several of UK-based specialist forums for help and advice;

The earlier 2.2 diesels were pretty reliable, the later 1.9 can have it's problems. Various petrol models are available from 2.0 LPT to 2.3 HPT (150BHP-265BHP), all turbocharged, and all available as auto or manual (including the diesels). Avoid the 3.0V6 diesel. Make sure it has a full service history, and preferably buy from an enthusiast!
