I recently signed a 4 year lease on a new Touareg. Car was delivered with no space saver spare and just a pump instead. Now I know cars are often supplied with no space saver now as its cheaper not to but the standard specification on both last and this year's models (mine was made in Nov 14 apparently) and the standard spec. on VW's website explicitely states the car is suplied with a space saver.

Now I know they'll say (they have gone totally silent on this despite 4 calls) that specs change without notice but my question is that if the spec on a 2014 model states it comes with a space saver and they stopped supplying space savers last year - why does the 2015 brochure (from April 2015) also state that all models come with a space saver?

How hard do I push?
